Our company has declared great financial results this year. We're well on track to achieving fast track growth again this year. Why do I need MC3?

Knowledge management and the Balanced Scorecard framework seem to be completely different and disjointed. How are they linked in your model?
The balanced scorecard framework suggests that we view the organisation from four perspectives, and to develop metrics, collect data and analyze it relative to each of these perspectives:
The Financial Perspective
The Customer Perspective
The Internal Process Perspective
The Learning and Growth Perspective
The MC3 framework places a large emphasis on “Learning and Growth”. Our initiatives in the “Capability” area of our framework are based to a large extent on traditional knowledge management best practices. This is the area where tools are provided and an environment is created whereby knowledge can be shared in the organisation. True learning and growth takes place here – of the organisation and of each and every individual in the organisation.

We have spent a great deal of time and resources to generate a strategy for our company. Why do we need MC3?
MC3 is a strategy implementation framework and not a strategy generation framework. We take strategy as a given. The better the organisation’s strategy, the better will be our implementation of MC3.
Most consulting companies would provide great inputs on strategy and then leave it to you to implement it. Nihilent as a company believes in Strategic Responsibility Management. This means that we do not just suggest a solution and leave – we take complete responsibility for the implementation and the impact on bottom lines. We walk you through your strategy implementation and only leave when the benefits of our implementation become tangible.

We've already implemented the Balanced Scorecard framework in our organisation. Do we still need MC3?
The Balanced Scorecard exercise is integral to our framework At the end of a successful rollout of this framework across an organisation, there are clear targets against which employees and departments are measured. Ever employee knows WHAT he / she has to do.
We believe that knowing WHAT needs to be done is half the battle won. MC3 takes on from here and does the following:
Creates a learning agenda through Capability Assessment and Knowledge Mapping.
Provides motivation interventions that encourage employees to fill identified gaps.
Provides technology and non – technology interventions that enable sharing and learning.
Leverages the best practices that result and institutionalize them across the organisation.
This entire process is what makes our framework holistic and cyclic in nature.

Is your framework flexible enough to allow me to pick and choose what I want to implement?
Yes. We believe that the MC3 framework is a natural model. Organisations may already be inculcating parts of our framework as a part of their existing practices. Therefore, before implementing this framework in an organisation, Nihilent carries out an assessment that helps in understanding the processes of the organisation and its level of knowledge management.
The assessment highlights areas of improvement or interventions in people, process and technology dimensions. It sets the agenda and also helps in giving the organisation the larger picture of what they are already doing and why they need to do the remainder.
Our recommendations are exactly that – recommendations. As a client you can pick and choose from our modules; we’re flexible.

Our industry is facing pricing pressures and squeezed margins. I cannot afford to implement any new frameworks in my company or risk defocussing my key team from their strategic responsibilities. In this scenario how can I think of MC3?

Fire fighting will surely not remove the root cause of the fires starting in the first place.
