Communities of Practice is a renowned way of encouraging organisation knowledge creation, ideation and knowledge sharing through information and self-organising communities. It is thus necessary for organisations to promote and support such communities by providing the right infrastructure, technology, facilities, rewards and recognition. These Communities of Practice add value to a company by sharing lessons learned, acting as distribution points for best and emerging practices, providing forums in which issues and problems can be raised and resolved and, in general, by learning from each other.
