Tacit to Explicit knowledge transfer is a set of techniques that facilitates sharing or transfer of expert knowledge within the organisation. The process is aimed at training experts, learners and Knowledge Officers to enable this knowledge transfer. It is a methodological approach supported by guidelines such as verbal, codification, mental modeling, demonstration and mentoring. It strives to ensure the transfer of a significant portion of the expert's tacit knowledge that is based on experience, gut feel, values and intuition.
